Lawrenceville Amazon Response Fund

Tax deductible

In December 2020, Amazon announced that it was leasing the former Sears Outlet at 27 51st Street from Spear Street Capital and converting it into a last-mile distribution center. After multiple community meetings convened by Lawrenceville United and Lawrenceville Corporation and a community survey that generated hundreds of responses from neighbors, we've heard loudly and clearly that the current plans proposed by Amazon aren't supported by the majority of the community due to a multitude of concerns related to Amazon's current plans.

Neighbors have repeatedly stressed that they want to make sure community voices will influence what happens at the site, and asking how they can chip in to help. In response, LU and LC are kick-starting this Community Action Fund to cover anticipated expenses related to community responses to Amazon's proposal, including possible legal costs, communications and printing, meeting expenses, and more.
