Many of you know our good friend Lawrence Akrie. Lawrence has been undergoing dialysis three times a week for the past two years. Just recently, his family received great news that Lawrence's son, Brandon, is a positive match and is willing to donate his kidney! The only obstacle left is for Lawrence to save enough money for both himself and his son to not work and recuperate for 3 months.
Every week Lawrence waits to do this surgery, he is damaging other vital organs in his body. Lawrence has been a friend to us for a long time and we want to get him through this surgery as soon as possible and eliminate the time he was planning to save the money on his own. We estimate that Lawrence will need at least $20K to cover the time away from work for both himself and Brandon. Friends have already begun pledging privately but every dollar helps!
