On Sunday morning, my grandfather Lawrence passed away. He has been battling stage 4 prostate cancer. Over the past year, he was manipulated by his caregiver, and it left him with his accounts drained and all his items of value stolen. The last few weeks of his life were painful as he endured the heartache of learning that the person who he thought cared for him robbed him of everything he owned.

My mother has taken it upon herself to try and help him the last two months, getting his stolen truck back, getting him a phone, and making sure he wasn’t alone as we rectified his pending eviction so he could spend his last days at home, per his wishes. Unfortunately, this has drained our savings and resources.
