Lawrence Jones Medical Lift for Home

Donation protected
Lawrence Jones, 65, suffered 3 strokes in the period of a week. The father of 3 daughters and 3 grandsons was traveling with his wife, Elke, in Wisconsin, when he had the paralyzing strokes.
Many would describe Lawrence as a “Giver”. He gives whatever he can, whenever he can. His friends and relatives alike know Lawrence has a heart of gold. He spent his childhood in Birmingham, where he was mostly raised by his grandmother after the early death of his parents. He dropped out of school to go to work at Ford when his grandmother passed away. Lawrence spent 30 of his life working for Ford while raising his children with his wife. When she became ill with cancer, Lawrence nursed his wife until her untimely passing. Lawrence remained an active member of the Cathedral of Deliverance, the UAW, and volunteered at the local schools. He was a Boy Scout Leader, T-Ball Coach, and Youth Baseball Coach. Lawrence remarried and started a cleaning business. Twice a week, time was donated to cleaning homes of people who did not have money or the ability to clean their home themselves. And when they retired, Lawrence and Elke sold their home to buy an RV and travel, a dream come to life! After 3 years of driving across the United States, the survivor of 2 heart attacks had 3 strokes during the course of a week.
Lawrence has been recovering for the past 4 months in Lacrosse, Wisconsin. He has had to learn how to use his body. From swallowing to chewing, to leaning to sitting, to taking aided steps, Lawrence has persevered in the face of adversity. You see, Lawrence has a hip deformity from childhood that he is working against. All the while, Elke has been living in their RV in Wisconsin, learning how to help Lawrence when he is cleared to leave. Together, Lawrence and Elke have been dealing with this life altering change alone. They are out of the reach of their family and friends in Michigan.
This is where they need your help! The RV needs a Medical Lift for Elke to be able to care for Lawrence. The lift would have to be specialized to run the length of the RV, their only home. The couple would love to get back on the road, not only to be supported by family in Michigan, but park somewhere warm for Lawrence to continue in an outpatient program. Traveling is their dream and their life. Please consider helping.
