Future Athletes Maturing

Where I am in my life, I strongly feel I owe it to my neighborhood. If it wasn’t for the solid men and women that helped me along the way, there is no way I would have been able to get a scholarship to Florida State University, travel abroad, and see that there is so much more out there than just my neighborhood. I feel strongly that it is my obligation to make sure that those same opportunities are there for the young men and women in my hometown that want to follow in my footsteps. I have friends that have passed away from gun violence and some that are doing life in prison. Basketball and the opportunities that it presented saved my life. It just might save the life of some young person who wants something more just as I did. I know there is a Terrell Baker or better to come. If we believe that our young people are the future let us bring them together in celebration and promote love, competition and relationship building
