Legendary entertainer, Lawanda Jackson, needs our help. Her modest income is derived from her drag performances in theaters and nightclubs across the US. She works with a disability following a stroke and brain aneurism six years ago. In spite of her mobility issues, she performs with the best of the best and receives standing ovations wherever she goes. She inspires on and off the stage. She life coaches aspiring drag queens, changing their lives forever.
In her own words, “Six years ago my life stopped, and stood still for several years until I accepted my new normal. What is happening to all of us now reminds me of how life can change in a second. It is unimaginable and difficult, but we will get through this together.
I have been an advocate and trail blazer for 45 years. I live on bookings and tips. Life as we know it has come to a standstill. You cannot put a price on survival. Whatever you feel in your heart to contribute, I would gratefully appreciate.”
