I hope you are all doing well.
I was recently accepted into the StartingBloc Institute in LA from February 16th-20th. StartingBloc is a fellowship program where young professionals and social change leaders from across the world come together to develop their leadership skills and join a community dedicated to social justice. The Institute provides fellows with tools for innovation and mentorship from world-class change makers through 5-days of workshops.
Why attend?
After serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Rwanda for the past two years, I recognized the great need for growing as leader and developing the skills neccessary to create sustainable change. I am extremely passionate about leadership development and empowerment. I believe this 5-day experience will help stretch my limits, learn from proven frameworks to create change and connect with leaders building a future that is inclusive and equitable.
I am truly grateful and fortunate to be selected to be apart of this upcoming institute. Unfortunately I was not provided with a scholarship to attend the Institute, and will have to fund the expenses myself if I am to attend. As a result, I have created this campaign to help offset the incurring expenses for my time during the institute.
My goal is to raise $2000. By reaching this I will be able to take part in this meaningful experience to grow, learn and connect.
Below I have provided a breakdown of what I am expected to pay.
$1,250 tuition
$400 roundtrip airfare within the U.S
$200 for shared accommodations for 4 nights
$75 misc. meals and drinks
Total: Approximately $1,935
With a donation of $50, I can reach this goal, however any contribution will be a financial blessing towards my personal development. No matter how small or large your contribution it is all greatly appreciated.
