Hey y'all. My name is Laurie King, 58 years old with COPD. I was diagnosed a little over 5 years ago and recently have had to give up my career because of the effects of the disease. I do dog sit and content create, and that brings in some money, but I am finding it increasingly hard to dog sit more than one dog at a time.
I have made many mistakes in my life, probably due to extreme childhood trauma, that I am now working on.
It's going to take me a year or more to get on disability. I did get approved for food stamps; however, last month, my card was cloned and drained of all its funds.
I don't know what to do other than ask for the kindness of strangers to help get me through. I live in a camper now full-time and periodically have to move to other campgrounds to have a place to live. My camper needs work; it is leaking. My truck needs work. I can't afford my rent, truck insurance, and phone each month. I just need a buffer to keep me going.
My truck is paid for but desperately needs maintenance. The camper is paid for but needs work, and I need to insure it and get it in my name, instead of my ex-spouse.
I have no health insurance, and any medical expenses I pay out of pocket. The medicine I need to survive day to day is $700 a month out of pocket. I cannot afford it. I am hoping for help from the manufacturer with that, but for now, people have been donating their deceased relatives' medicine.
I don't know what else to do but ask for help.
