Remembering Laurie

Alan Bundy is my cousin.  Today I contacted him about setting up a GoFundMe page for his wife, Laurie, who has been diagnosed with cancer.  He said that others had also approached him about this, but he had been hesitant.  After receiving his approval, this page was created.

Alan's words from Facebook explain what has occurred with Laurie.

"Today has been one of the most difficult days I have experienced in my life. Laurie had her endoscopy which revealed she, in fact, has stomach Cancer. Through all of the ups and downs, we have been through since Thursday night, it has led to this. I can't express enough the fear and concern I have for Laurie, but I have been realistic about the situation. My faith teaches me, and I firmly believe that our God is in control of everything. His timing is perfect. 

The results of Laurie's exploratory surgery was not encouraging. Cancer has spread to her abdominal wall from her stomach. Today they inserted a port so that she can accept Chemo treatments. This is devastating news and we are coming to terms with the reality of what this means. There are so many thoughts racing through our minds.

Your prayers and positive thoughts have been a source of strength and encouragement for Laurie and me. I have read and re-read your comments, scripture, and words of wisdom, and we have shed tears knowing how special you are to us."
