Hello everyone,
My name is Lauren and hoping to raise funds to help out. There are many costs in this type of loss that aren't covered by insurance, including new MA energy efficiency code laws that are enforced for reconstruction, but minimally covered by insurance.
Our friend Laurie had a huge pine tree fall on her house on February 3rd during that crazy cold snap and incredible wind storm. I am SO thankful she was away and not in the house at the time the tree fell. We heard and felt it down the street in my home. Another amazing neighbor, who lives across the street from Laurie, also felt it and was the one to realize the tree had fallen on Lauie's home. Absolutely devastating and probably shouldn’t have gone inside but we did and her adorable home has some pretty significant and serious damage. The Norfolk town police and fire department were amazing that night. They did all they could to secure the destruction and keep Laurie informed. As this process has just begun, she has been told it could be up to a year before she is back in her home.
Right away the neighbors came together to see what we could do to help. We will be having a fundraiser at the Public House 37 Monk St in Stoughton, put on by a neighbor that owns this establishment, on March 26th from 1 pm - 4 pm.
Laurie has a lot of friends and family who are not local and we wanted to share our fundraising efforts with as many people as we can.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for supporting Laurie.
