Laurie is a mother of two and a grammy of 4. They are wonderful children and grandchildren!

Wednesday, December 7th at the end of my work day I received a call from Brandon her son. He had come by to visit. After entering the home he called out to his mother, she did not respond. He walked to the back of our home and heard a faint cry out from the bathroom.

His mother was on the bathroom floor disoriented and crying, completely naked. She had just come out of the shower and as she went to wrap her hair with the towel, she fell forward and hit her head on the floor.

Brandon called 911 and then called me. Laurie was taken to Enloe emergency. She recieved an CT scan due to the fact she had hit her head on the floor.

A large mass was discoved in the rear of her brain, after futher review of the scan the doctors found 4 more tumors in her brain. A second CT scan was done on her abdomen where a large mass was found in her left lung. Laurie is at Stage 4 of Small Cell Lung Cancer. The SCLC broke off stem cells that travled to the brain which is common with this type of Cancer. Up untill Wed. 12/7, we had no idea! Laurie was acting healthy, no cough just a slight headache which we attributed to her classes and completion of her BS in Human Resources a few days prior. She had been staring at a computer monitor for months every day. She hated Macro Economics and the Capstone class was a challenge! But she did it! She graduated with Honors and an A!

Laurie was to start work after the 1st of the year with Chico Unified School District.

I am soooo proud of her!!! She did it! She even did it with 5 Tumors in her brain!

We are all devasted!!!

Our lives are turned upside down. This is the first time I have asked for help like this. I have not been able to go to work and my job has been our security while Laurie has been in school. I will be going back to work as much as possible but I need to be here for her as well. Her son Brandon has moved in with us so he can take care of her during the day.

California Health and Wellness has been great in the hospital but they are not helpful with Alternative, Holistic treatments. I have a mobile nurse which will be coming once a week to give Laurie IV's and other vitamins and nutrients to help her but there is more to do!

I cannot lose my love, my soul and my heart without trying EVERTHING there is to try. She will most likely have to start with Chemo and Targeted Radiation Therapies. We didn't want to but at stage 4.....?

I am asking for our family, for myself, for her children and grandchildren and most of all for Laurie.........

Laurie is only 58, she has so much life left to live!!
