Raising sustainable support through the Coffee Project
The official Coffee Marathon in Uganda was postponed, but Ruhanga Development School, Director Denis, decided the spirit of the event should continue.
This weekend, he will run with the students of the school and local village children — turning it into a community run filled with hope, joy, and purpose.
Laurie and Anne are hoping to raise $1,000 this weekend to support the school and help keep the momentum going.
Thousands of coffee trees have already been planted, and within the next three years, the project is expected to fully support the school — helping provide stability for students and families
Recent Ebola concerns in Uganda have already affected tourism and volunteer travel, which directly impacts important income that helps support the school and lodge. It’s a reminder of why creating sustainable local income matters so much!
Our larger fundraising goal is $34,000 by September, and thanks to many generous supporters, we’ve already raised nearly $17,000. Once we complete the campaign, the funds will be matched — doubling the impact.
The Coffee Project helps sustain the school regardless of tourism, travel, or outside circumstances.
This run is about more than exercise. It’s about resilience, community, and creating a future where these children always have access to education.
If you’d like to support the school, we would be deeply grateful.
Plant and grow Coffee Tree for only $5.00 and two will be planted to provide Education for the next several generations! Plant some coffee trees in honor of someone you love.
All donations being matched by Tutoring Heroes!
Every dollar truly makes a difference.
