Laurentiu Soltan - beloved chef at The Bingham

It is with deep sadness that we learnt that our beloved Laurentiu (Lorenzo), the life and soul of the Riverhouse kitchen and our family, passed away on Sunday, 7th August 2022.

We all share the pain, sadness and grief for the sudden passing of someone so full of life, with so much passion, joie de vivre, energy, great dance moves and the biggest heart and smile he shared with everyone.

This has been all too stark a reminder of the challenges that exist within the hospitality industry. Where mental health, especially among chefs, remains all too real, with 4 in 5 hospitality professionals reporting to have had experienced at least one mental health issue during their career.

WALK FOR LORENZO

On Monday 15th August, we will close The Riverhouse from 11am - 2pm so we can lead a fundraising walk in Richmond Park to take action in supporting Lorenzo’s family at this difficult time.

We know how much he enjoyed nature and we thought this would be a beautiful way to all connect. We hope you can all join us. We will meet in the Bingham Riverhouse garden at 11am. Our entire community is welcome to join us.
