Lauren's Recovery and Path to Health
Donation protected
My name is Lauren Claiborne, and I am asking for your help paying medical and other monthly bills I have accrued on my road to recovery. After a grueling stint of mystery health issues, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in mid June. What I thought was a pinched nerve in my neck turned out to be a much more serious health condition. For over two months, I was so ill I couldn't work. Most of the time, I was so fatigued I had to lay on the couch after only a few minutes of activity. I had to walk with a cane even in my own house, and most challenging of all, I did not have the strength in my drawing arm to draw and even had difficulty eating. During this time, medical and other bills started to accrue, and I'm now finding myself strapped financially.
Since my diagnosis, however, I made an immediate change in treating my condition. Being someone who believes that our bodies can heal themselves given the right tools, I started an extensive schedule of physical therapy, chiropractic care and a new healthy diet to heal my body. Because of these changes, I can now walk without a cane and have even begun to work again! I've had to change the way I do things so as to not over-exert myself. I can only work for 3-4 hours at a time presently and have made other changes as well. The hardest part of being so ill for me was not being able to work because my work brings so much joy to others and myself. I am so pleased to be able to work again, even in a limited capacity.
The road to recovery may be long, as I still walk with a limp and experience numbness in my extremities most of the time presently. I am gaining strength and independence again, but I know that I have to stay on my path of diet, exercise and nutrition to continue making progress. If you donate today, know that I will be using that money to help pay for MRI, radiology, blood tests, neurology and other bills, along with utilities, physical therapy, chiropractic care and healthy foods for myself until I'm strong enough and capable enough to work full time again and bring as much art as my hands can paint to Knoxville. Art is my true passion and I am feeling like myself more and more every time I can paint.
Thanks for taking the time to read and I appreciate every one of you for helping me along. <3 <3 <3
