Lauren's Post-Colectomy Recovery Fund

Lauren Bruno's fingerprint on Austin's music & arts community has been expansive and selfless. She's booked and performed countless shows to raise funds for charity, promote inclusion, and build awareness. She even used her band's honorary "Les Rav Day" at City Council to make a direct plea to the Mayor to do more to support artists.
What many people don't know is she did all of this while battling severe ulcerative colitis.
Through years of chronic pain, hospital stints, and physically & financially draining treatments—she relentlessly championed her mission to spread love, light, and community support through as many musical and artistic collaborations as she had the energy for.
Just a few weeks ago, Lauren moved forward with the tough decision to have her colon removed via a procedure called a colectomy.
As I write this [a friend], I simply can't imagine how scary it must have been for her make that decision. What didn't surprise me at all, however, is that she has navigated through it with the same bravery, love, and light that has propelled all of her other achievements.
But she needs us now. She needs our support in whatever form we can contribute. She has a beautiful 2 year old daughter named Ryland to care for, months of rehabilitation ahead of her, and a stack of medical bills to wade through.
This is not a small burden for her to carry, so I am not asking for a small amount of money. I fully believe that she has touched so many people in Austin, that my request to give it back when she needs it most—to help her feel secure in one of her darkest moments—will be met with the positivity, enthusiasm, and urgency it deserves.
Thank you in advance for giving. Thank you in advance for sharing this page to your timelines and online communities/groups you're involved with. Thank you in advance for sending Lauren messages and words of encouragement.
I, for one, count it as an honor to help carry people like Lauren through times like these because I know she's done so much to carry others. Thank you for doing what you are about to do now to carry her with me.
