Lauren's Lost Cats Foster-based Rescue
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Lauren Warner, and I am President of Lauren's Lost cats rescue. When I signed up to be a non-profit, I mistakenly did not check the box indicating PUBLIC, so the government marked the box next to PRIVATE. Private nonprofits are those like Maddie's Fund, Purina, PetSmart, Bissell, etc....that give grants to public nonprofits so they can meet the needs of their organization.
We wish to be PUBLIC and we are acting " as if." Doing so will change our status from private to public in 5 years. Our Board of Trustees has decided this is the best route to take. It is definitely the route that takes less money from our cats, and they are all that matter. Lauren's Lost Cats has fosters, we do adoptions, we TNR and help feeders TNR and feed their cat colonies. This coming June will be 2 years acting as a public non-profit and doing the best we can. Not being recognized as a public nonprofit means that Go Fund Me, Amazon, Paypal, Facebook, Meta, and the Giving Fund do not recognize us as a non-profit that can raise funds through their venues. Therefore I am raising funds for the rescue I run so that we can continue to do the great work we've been doing. You can find us on Facebook under Lauren's Lost Cats or on the web at Laurenslostcats.net. Our website is not up to snuff and pretty much non-workable at this point. We don't have the funds to hire somebody to get us going or to teach us how to keep it going. So it's there, and we're real and we really need help especially during the holidays & cold weather. This is the time of year when we find cats frozen to death with their babies, starving for lack of food, and the usual medicals such as car accidents, attacks by dogs, and abandonment. The only way we can help with these things is if you help us raise the money to help them.
