Lauren’s Journey of Survivorship

Our dear friend Lauren survived a catastrophic car accident on December 9th. She required major abdominal surgery, has a broken left leg, broken back, multiple lacerations, and is now a stroke survivor due to cardiac and trauma factors. She rocked it at an intensive stay at MGH ICU and then at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.

Although she is home, Lauren still has a lot ahead of her, including a cardiac procedure to prevent future strokes, more abdominal surgery to address a traumatic herniation from the surgery, and ongoing rehab to address her needs. As well, Lauren may not be able to work for quite some time, which is mentally and financially draining for someone who is so vastly independent.

So many of us know and love Lauren. She is wildly funny, kind, compassionate, and deserves all that we can give her to aid in her recovery. We wanted to raise money on behalf of her because of how much she deserves this support but also because she is not a person to ask for this support.
