Lauren’s Breast Cancer Journey
If you know Lauren, you know that she is sunshine in human form. Her recent breast cancer diagnosis has been a shocking and terribly sad chapter in her life. But in true Lauren fashion, she has faced it head on, with determination, confidence, optimism, and her infectious, bubbly smile. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy and hormone treatment. After that, she will undergo radiation as well.
Her strength is truly inspiring, especially given how taxing the chemotherapy has been on her physically and that she has lost her hair as a side-effect of the chemotherapy. We want to show Lauren how much we support her, love her, and are inspired by the strength, kindness, and joy she brings to the world.
Please help us raise money for Lauren to buy a real-hair wig (which is surprisingly expensive… consider yourself lucky if you didn’t know this fact) and to cover her mounting medical bills. The wig will cost $5000, but her insurance won’t cover it. Her medical bills are already over $5,000, with more likely to come since she is only halfway through chemotherapy and not yet started radiation.
Please show your caring in any way you can.
To quote Lauren on May 3, from her first day of chemotherapy:
“We can do difficult things. My goal is to do them with a smile. For those of you that want to help, my request is this: treat people well, everyone. Love your people hard. Be grateful for what you have. Focus on what is important to you, and worry less about everything else.”
