After undergoing 28 hours of emergency hospital care, we are sad to share that Lauren Rose Chan-Martinez passed on August 19th, 2025, at 6:23 pm at 4 years old.

Lauren was born on March 12, 2021, at 6:05 am. Since birth, she experienced extensive medical complications. She had a weak heart and underwent multiple invasive surgeries while premature. This led to her being more susceptible to contracting multiple infectious viruses. There were multiple scans, doctor, and physical therapy visits involved. The hospital quickly became their second home. Outside of the hospital, Lauren required around-the-clock care with special medications and feedings, all while being ventilator-dependent. All of these circumstances are a testament to Lauren’s strength and resilience. She is and will always be our miracle baby.

Christina and Christian became medical parents on top of being regular parents. Through managing countless back-to-back medical appointments and learning new ways to tend to Lauren’s physical and mental well-being, they gave Lauren the best care possible. Aside from her challenging medical needs, Lauren still lived a full, happy childhood. They always took the chance to take their children to explore as much of the world as possible. Their children were able to experience traveling to wonderful places from Joshua Tree and Big Bear to amusement parks such as Disneyland and Adventure City. In addition, Christina and Christian never passed up a chance to throw a party to surround Lauren and Aurora with their friends and family often. They definitely are phenomenal, selfless parents.

All proceeds will go towards her memorial costs and her final hospital bills. Lauren’s conditions granted charitable funds to allow Christina to care for her at home without working. Your donations will also allow them to get back on their feet as they heal from Lauren’s passing.
