We hope this letter finds you well. We are asking you to join us in support of our friend, Lauren Hart, as she courageously battles a disease that has touched us all in some way, shape or form during the course of our lives. Lauren has been battling cancer for the better part of 9 months now. Lauren faces a tough and her and her family need our support.
Lauren Hart is 37 years old, born and raised in Northeast Philadelphia. She attended St. Dominic’s and is a graduate of both St. Hubert and Temple University. Her and her husband Tim, a Philadelphia Police Officer, have three children; Braedon, who is 12 years old, Seamus age 10, and Casey is 3. If you know Mayfair, you know the Hart family, as they are involved in St. Matthew Parish, Winchester Swim Club, and Lansing Youth Organization.
In May of 2015, Lauren was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. She had a double mastectomy in September of 2015. During this surgery she found out her hormone receptors are triple negative and that the cancer had traveled to her lymph nodes. Lauren is wrapping up her second round of chemotherapy. After a short break she will begin her 6 weeks of radiation.
Lauren continues to be an inspiration to her friends and family and can still be found at almost every school and sporting event in which her children participate. She continues to fight and refuses to let this disease take the joy and happiness out of her life. She is a true example of what it means to be a FIGHTER.
Needless to say, the emotional toll as well as the financial strain to the Hart family has
has been overwhelming and the financial burden of her medical bills will be tremendous. We are asking for you to participate in the Broad Street Run for Lauren.
