Veteran Suicide-Sergeant Lauren Ashly Rhodes

Lauren had no life insurance. We just were informed that it is required for Lauren's car to be cleaned by a licensed biohazard clean up company where they will have to physically remove all cloth/material that is stained, such as headliner, seats, and carpet". The cost is $2500 for this expense. The Rhodes family has suffered a tragic loss. my niece, Sergeant Lauren Ashly Rhodes, Geospactial Intelligence Imagry Analyst, separated from the U.S. Army on 18 September 2018. She committed suicide on 20 November 2019. Her brother committed suicide on 23 July 2018, which caused serious emotional distress to her. Sgt. Rhodes struggled with alcoholism prior to discharge. While on active duty she received Army Comomodation Award, Army Achievement Medal (2nd Award), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal. Prior to her death, the family tried to get medical help for her. Lauren's suicide was sudden and unexpected after days of positive steps forward planning her future. The family is requesting monetary assistance to cover viewing and cremation expenses. Any money beyond the goal of $4000, will be donated to Mission 22 or to the creation of a 501(c)(3)-"Lauren's Place".
