Hi Everyone! My name is Lauren McDaniels and I am a current sophmore at the illustrious Xavier University of Louisiana from Oakland,CA. My ultimate goal is to become a Pediatric Doctor. I am currently apart of several organizations on campus such as the California Club, the Pre- Alumni council, the Student Government association, the NAACP, the National Council of Negro Woman, and the Coca Cola Campus Ambassador for the Xavier campus. In order to continue my journey I need a bit of financial assistance.
Over the summer I was able to intern with the deputy mayor Dr. Kimberly Mayfield, from Oakland, CA. I learned so much from her that I will be able to apply at Xavier! As well as I was able to attend the Xavier Alumni Conference, where I met other fellow Xaverites. They gave me so many encouraging words and reminded me how loving the Xavier community is.
I have tried EVERYTHING I can do to stay in New Orleans to finish my education. My tuition is roughly 40k a year. I am short for this semester around $10,775. You might wonder why I didn’t attend a California State school, since it would be cheaper. My dream has always been to attend Xavier, receive my Bachelors degree, & be able to go to one of the top medical schools.
As well as to continue on the Xavier legacy started by my father who is also an alum co ‘97. This money will be used to cover my tuition and my current housing! I am humbly coming to you all to see if you may be able to contribute or pass this around. I am extremely grateful for all the support and love I have! I keep God very close to my heart and always remember Proverbs 16:9. “Within your heart you can make plans for your future, but the Lord chooses the steps you take to get there.” Proverbs 16:9 TPT
