My good friends Lauren McLean Iuppa (aka Lauren Ayer) and Phil Geronimo are going through a health and housing crisis and need our support!
Their landlord just raised the rent on their casita for the second time, forcing them to move. Fortunately, they’ve found a new place and will move in Feb. 15. The new place seems to be a healthier environment. But moving is expensive. A lot of their money has gone into investing in their business, Geronimo’s Books.
Lauren has had concerning neurological symptoms for about a year and a half, affecting her vision, motor skills, and word finding. Tests have ruled out much of the really scary stuff, leading to a conclusion of long covid. Her medical expenses are adding up and will continue. All of this is also exacerbating her existing autoimmune conditions.
Her health issues have caused Lauren to lose her freelance editing work, reducing her income. She and Phil both continue to work long hours at the bookstore. (Geronimo’s is a great community resource for author readings and used books, so give them some love at 3018 Cielo Ct Suite D!)
If all this weren’t enough, the window on Phil’s car was shot out and remains unfixed. They need to get that working, as their new place is farther from the bookstore and Phil’s second job.
Lauren and Phil are stretched and stressed. They need our support.
Can you pitch in? Our virtual village, in Santa Fe and beyond, can help give them a new start!
