Lauren & Nikki’s Emergency Housing Fund

Hi everyone, I’m Lauren, thank you for clicking our link!

I am a hispanic disabled queer woman, who works full time and lives with their partner, Nikki, and our cat, Doja.

We currently share an apartment with roommates, and our roomates abruptly lost their sole source of income, and can no longer afford rent where we are at, meaning myself and my partner are forced to move as well. 

Unfortunately we were completely unprepared for this, and have no savings to fund a move, as we had already been struggling financially due to medical expenses, missed work, and the current economic inflation of basic needs, like food. 

We have until 08/31/23 (updated time frame- we have more time!) to raise funds for a deposit, first month’s rent, movers, a moving truck, packing supplies, and apartment application fees. I work from home, so a safe place to work is neccessary to keep both my job and health insurance. 

(We were also previously sharing a car with the roommates, so we will be without transportaion once we move, which is a challenge in and of itself.)

My only goal is to keep a roof over the heads of my girlfriend, our kitty, and myself. Every single dollar counts.
