Just a couple weeks after this sweet photo was taken of Lauren with her 3 year old Rosie and newborn, Winnie, their world was rocked. Lauren developed debilitating migraines which were first attributed to hormonal adjustments in the postpartum period. The migraines continued and a brain scan indicated a large brain tumor. Lauren was rushed into emergency surgery. The surgery removed much of the tumor, but unfortunately it was found to be cancerous.

While everyone reels and adjusts to this news, there are already miracles to be praised. The fact that Lauren and Winnie made it through the pregnancy and delivery without complications is astounding. Lauren is stronger than she had any idea of and sweet Winnie arrived with incredible speed, saving her mother from extra stress on her body. What a mother/daughter miracle story. Thankfully, they have an amazing family support system that lives nearby.

There is so much for them to focus on now – with treasuring their family time along with the travel for further opinions and upcoming treatment, I ask that you help this precious family concentrate on that and not the financial burdens ahead. Lauren will be out of work for an extended period and Blake will need to be available to help Lauren and be there for his sweet daughters. With no income coming in at this time, a mortgage, living and medical expenses, it is time for us to create a large village to remove this additional stress from their lives.
