If you know Lauren, you undoubtedly know her story - or at least part of it. But just in case you are new to her story let me fill you in - the short version.
In the 11 years of their marriage, Lauren and David have experienced numerous trials, from David's medical trials in their early years, to losing their first born, Berkley, to the premature birth of their second born, Sadie (who is thriving and amazing), to attacks on their marriage from the one who seeks to steal, kill and destroy, to the loss of their third child, Henry. So much pain and heartache. We thought Lauren and David had reached a plateau. Good things were happening, God was providing, as He is always faithful to do! But this winter, early spring, Lauren received more heart wrenching news - she has breast cancer. Well our warrior woman stepped up ready to fight (as seen in her picture)! She was about to start her first treatment when they received news that she is pregnant! With their history, I am sure you could imagine the whirl of emotions. Add the C word on top of it and see if you can even breathe....(as her friend, I couldn't). For Lauren’s health, terminating the pregnancy was the recommendation, but our friends said, "No. God is greater than our fears."
Watch God do it, friends! Here we are in the middle of week 28 with baby Isaac! {{UPDATE: as of 9/18/20, Isaac is officially at 29 weeks!!! -that is so huge!}} Lauren is crushing chemo WHILE PREGNANT - AND, wait for it....this is the LONGEST she has ever carried a child! Praise GOD! In true Lauren fashion, it hasn't been easy. She has had to deal with kidney stones, surgery to remove kidney stones, AND a blood clot that pretty much ran the length of her whole leg....I know - but again, God has carried her through.
As you can imagine, with all of these trials has come the inevitable load of expenses. That is what brings us to this point. We know that so many love Lauren and David and wish we had SOME WAY to help them.
Well - here is your way.
Help encourage Lauren and David by being the hands and feet of Jesus. Show them love like they never imagined they would or could receive. Ask God how much you should bless Lauren and David with and see it through. This we can do. We can't fight the battle for them. We can't be there every day. We can't take the pain and the worry away, but we can do this - the rest, we leave to God, because he is MORE than capable! Let's do our part.
