Laura's Recovery Campaign

Hello all,

My name is Brian Nixon; I'm Laura's brother. Laura recently took a solo two-week trip to the western Mediterranean to celebrate her 30th birthday. Unfortunately, while exploring the Spanish island of Menorca at the end of her first week, she was involved in a very severe moped accident, which resulted in multiple compound right leg fractures; a fractured pelvis, sacrum and hip socket; two minor vertebrae fractures; a badly broken left hand; a concussion, and a number of cuts, scrapes and bruises. She spent the first four days after her accident in a medically induced coma to keep her from injuring herself while moving. Laura was able to be revived the same day our parents finally made it to Spain.

As you can imagine, this will be a long, costly, and complicated recovery with multiple surgeries and extensive physical therapy.

I'm working with Elona and Tishara, friends of Laura's from the West Coast, to organize this campaign so the only things my parents and Laura have to focus on are recovery and getting home and not the mounting costs associated with this accident. We appreciate whatever you can contribute and can't thank you enough for helping her and my family out in this time of need!
