Hi, my name is Laura and I am a 32 year old mother of two beautiful children. Last year I was diagnosed with stage 2b cervical cancer and beat it after undergoing chemotherapy & radiation. A couple weeks ago I took a visit to the ER due to some back and chest pains I was experiencing. After several tests and scans, the doctors discovered the cancer had returned. I was devastated but determined to fight. After meeting with the oncologist today to discuss treatments, I found out I will need more chemotherapy which will go on a minimum of 4-6 months and will exhaust all of my STD at work which will force me out on LTD. Although I am a very independent woman and have a hard time asking others for help, I have no choice but to lean on others at this time of need. With the costly copays and high deductibles, it being the holidays, and now knowing I will be out of work for some time, any bit of help you can provide is much appreciated.
