Laura's journey

Donation protected
One of my very best friends from college, Laura (Day) Leach, was taken to the hospital on December  1st with a ruptured brain aneurysm. She was then airlifted to a different hospital in Indianapolis, IN where she still remains as of now.  By a miracle from God, she survived what is often fatal.  In addition to being on a ventilator for a few days, she experienced complications with swallowing and motor functioning issues.  She has been closely monitored for brain swelling and bleeding, and had a seizure at one point followed by what she humorously called a "four hour nap."  Her faith remains strong and spirits are good,  but  the journey ahead is expected to be long and arduous as her body relearns to function efficiently.  She is expected to be admitted to a rehab facility any day now, where she will continue to undergo physical therapy and any additional therapy needed.

As one could imagine, the medical expenses for such a medical crisis are expected to be quite large.  Moreover, Laura is unable to work for the foreseeable future at this time.  The church, where her husband Rick is a minister, is taking donations to help with medical costs.  With the family's permission, I am also setting up this online option to reach "the masses" and provide an added opportunity for giving.  All funds will go toward Laura's medical expenses and recovery process.  If you would prefer to mail a check directly to the church building, please send your check to:

Make sure to write In the memo line: "The Leach family."

I realize this is a challenging time of year with Christmas right around the corner, but any and all amounts are helpful and greatly appreciated.  You can also keep the rest of the Leach family in your prayers: Rick and their two precious children Olivia (16), and Elijah (11).

Those of you who know Laura are aware that she is extremely giving, self-sacrificing, and servant minded.  She graciously seeks out ways to serve others and encourage.  She now needs to be on the receiving end of this, and yet she still continues to encourage and uplift even from her hospital bed.

Thank you in advance for your generosity as the body of Christ.
