This past May, Laura noticed two lumps in her breast. After seeing her medical doctor, a thermography scan was performed where she saw possible breast cancer. Upon reviewing her thermography scans in 2016 and 2017, it was evident that these lumps had been there for at least 5 years or more even though a 2019 mammogram was negative for any evidence. After thermography that showed the lumps in 2021, her doctor immediately sent her to a breast surgeon for an ultrasound and the surgeon suggested and performed a biopsy that day.

The next day, Laura received a phone call that changed her life. She was told she had Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (Breast Cancer) and her lymph nodes were suspicious, so she would need a bone scan, MRI, and CAT Scan to determine if it had metastasized the following week. Laura immediately began researching, consulting, and looking for advocates and practitioners to help her heal her body and cure this cancer.

After those scans and a follow-up meeting with her surgeon, she was diagnosed with Stage 2 Luminal B and Hormone + Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. This diagnosis has been a devastating surprise, and we need to ensure that Laura will have access to all possible cures. Your donation will allow her to find the best possible treatment available. Laura is hoping to receive integrative and holistic treatment at Hope 4 Cancer starting in July for three weeks with ongoing and follow-up treatment with her doctors here. The battle ahead of her is long and the treatment and care will require significant expenses.

Cancer is a horrible disease that affects 1 out of every 3 people. Cancer can be treated in many ways and Laura believes with the tools and education along with a team of integrative and holistic practitioners that she can beat this cancer without killing her body in the process.

We created this page to help her with finances for medical bills, treatment copays, travel to facilities, and any other unexpected expenses including ongoing treatment for the next couple of years. Money is the last thing that she needs to worry about, particularly as she is navigating second opinions, out-of-network options, uncovered holistic treatments, and large deductibles for the foreseeable future. It’s our hope to achieve this goal in an effort to decrease her financial burden and ease the stress that goes hand in hand with this project to be cancer-free or “Project Gone” as Laura calls it. 

Laura is one of the strongest, most selfless people we have known and has always helped anyone that crosses her path to living a healthy lifestyle, reach their goals, and keep a positive attitude, no matter the challenge that life presents. Laura believes this diagnosis to be a mission to help others with the knowledge she is gaining along the way.
