My name is Don Starr and I’m starting this GoFundMe for my wife, Laura. On the afternoon of 4/14, Laura was a victim of a felony hit and run while walking into the Lowe's store in Mission Valley, San Diego. The car drove off without checking on Laura, or calling for help. The story was covered by Fox 5 San Diego News , CBS, and the Union Tribune. The criminal investigation is ongoing.

Laura suffered serious injuries, including a fractured femur, a traumatic brain injury, and serious abrasions throughout her body. Laura's recovery will be intense, and will take a long time. Our whole world has been flipped upsidown. It has been challenging to get what we need medically and otherwise, especially as San Diego comes out of COVID restrictions. 

Laura is a twenty year volunteer with the San Diego County Master Gardener Association. She is also a 20 year volunteer at Cancer Hope Network. Her creative spirit time has been spent at Clay Artists at The Vineyard making nature and garden inspired art. This incident has devastated our lives and put a financial burden on our family that we are not equipped to handle. 

I am asking for any and everyone who can to help our friend in this tragic time. She will need help with everything to get her life back together. ANY donation amount will help and be appreciated to get her back on her feet, as we deal with this tragedy.
