My dear friend/sister, Laura Miller, has been given a rare opportunity. Through a special connection, Dr. Ben Carson (Yes. The Ben Carson!) had influence in getting Laura an appointment with a neurologist specializing in CIDP (CIDP link below) at Pennsylvania Medicine Hospital on June 20th! This is one of only two places in the US that specialize in the advanced treatment of CIDP.
Laura's condition has deteriorated significantly over the past year. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and she needs our help to get there. Thankfully, her college roommate and wonderful friend, Jennifer, an ICU nurse, is looking forward to Laura staying in her home when she's not in the hospital receiving treatment/tests.
We are raising money to cover Laura's plane ticket, medical equipment rental (wheelchair, hospital bed, walker, etc.), meals, and incidentals. In addition, we will keep you apprised of uncovered medical expenses as we find out what they are .
