Hello Friends and Family of Laura McLuckie.
It finally happened - after more than a year on dialysis Laura is getting a new kidney!
Laura must remain close to VGH for 3-4 months after her surgery. And one of her parents will be with her at all times. So lots of travel costs with Dawn in Ladysmith and Wayne in Peachland plus groceries, meals, comfort items for Laura, etc. All those daily things we take for granted.
Laura is one of the most remarkable people. She has battled her entire life with learning disabilities and medical problems - including her first kidney transplant at age 10. She does it with such calm and acceptance - she is truly amazing. Laura is indeed my hero!
All financial help will be put towards keeping the family together and healthy during Laura's time in Vancouver. Thank you for helping out!
