Laura Kelly, a Flagler College graduate, our friend and fellow realtor at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty has recently been diagnosed with cancer that has spread to her brain.
In early December her left foot/leg started flopping to the left during floor exercises at the gym. Her doctor was convinced she was having strokes. Very soon afterwards, her foot/leg became so severe, that she was unable to walk on her own. On January 1st she was transported to the ER.
An MRI showed lesions on the brain that started in her lungs and metastasized to her brain. Other than some headaches she really had no pain.
After being hospitalized for four days, they started Laura on steroids and anti-seizure medication. Two weeks ago she started radiation on her brain and then started chemo and radiation on her chest for three weeks. She starts more chemo on February 26th for a total of six rounds at 3 days each.
Per Laura; “I may not be able to BEAT this completely but I will give it a beating and be here as long as possible. I am strong and otherwise healthy so please keep saying prayers and keeping positive thoughts for me”
