Laura is Stronger than the Storm!

Hey y’all! My name is Abigail, and I am hoping that you will be able to help me with a very important cause in my life. My mom, Laura Adkison, has recently been diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, Stage 2A, and is in need of a surgery to remove the cancerous tumor to ensure and determine that her cancer can be properly treated.

My Mom is the strongest, kindest, most hardworking woman I have ever met. She has been a single parent working my entire life to ensure I have everything I need. However, in this difficult moment, honestly, the most important moment, I’m unable to provide her with the help she so greatly deserves.

In the most recent months, my Mom has been helping care for my grandad until his recent death. She had not been working to ensure she was available to help take care of him at any given time; however, this has led to her being uninsured, a first for her, and a situation that she is not used to being in. Despite our best efforts, insurance has given us the run around, Medicaid says she is ineligible for their assistance, and now we are left to pay for her surgery out of pocket until other resources can be found. We have been working to try and bring together any resources between the two of us that we can, but sadly the cost for her surgery keeps increasing no matter how hard we try to keep up.

All my life, my Mom, has taught me it is important to support others, help when you can, and give without any expectation of anything in return. My Mom is my best friend, my rock, and my cheerleader no matter the journey life takes me on, but at this time in our journey, I am unable to provide all the support that is required for her medical bills. James 4:2 says, “Ye have not, because you ask not”, so I am hoping you can find it in your heart, to be willing to help her with the full expectation that in return we will both be beyond grateful.

I know the goal is high, and I am asking for more than I should from those of you who have read this far, but I hope you understand my plea. Please understand that I am trying to help my mom, my best friend, and that by starting this Go Fund Me page, I am attempting to help her in the best way I know how, by asking help from you.
