Laura Howe (Bradford) - our AMAZING sister, aunt, wife, daughter, and friend - is fighting for her life.
Two years ago, in May of 2016 she was diagnosed with stage 3 Ovarian Cancer. After invasive surgery and a rigorous treatment of chemotherapy, the cancer returned in May of 2017. She has tried three different cutting edge treatment therapies. All of which helped for a little while, but were not effective in keeping the cancer at bay.
On October 16, 2018, Laura was admitted to the ICU at Huntsman Cancer Institute for a life threatening pulmonary embolism. Her doctors found the cancer had grown significantly. At this time she is very weak and the doctors are trying to stabilize her so she can begin Chemotherapy. She has always been full of resolute strength, but right now that strength is being tested.
Laura continues to receive the best health care. Unfortunately, this comes with an astronomical cost, especially since Laura and Taylor recently had to change their insurance provider just after they had finished meeting their out-of-pocket expenses. Now, they are starting over for the second time this year.
Many of you reading this, have asked how you can help. While we cannot take away Laura’s pain and struggles right now, we can ease some of her financial burdens. We have started this Go-Fund-Me as a way for them to do this.
Your donations will go directly towards the out of pocket costs associated with:
*20+ nights (and counting) in the ER, ICU, and Hospital
*15+ different medications that are always changing
*Chemo Infusions (starting soon hopefully!)
*At-Home nurses and therapists and medical supplies
When it comes to personal matters Taylor and Laura are extremely private people. They have been shouldering the cost all this time and would continue to do so. They are the first to help when help is needed and the last to complain about the countless struggles they have faced.
Through her battle Laura has been the definition of Courage! She has continued running her business while remaining quiet about her cancer only telling some family and friends. She was also able to marry her sweetheart Taylor, who has been taking such good care of her. If you have met Laura you know her hilarious sense of humor and her love of life!
There are not enough words to describe the gratitude we feel for everyone who has expressed love, concern and kindness towards our sweet Laura. Please continue to pray and think of her. Those prayers and thoughts are the greatest gifts we could ask for at this time.
Any donation, no matter how small will help, but if you’re not in a position to donate please don’t feel obligated to do so.
