Hi, my name is Tanya, and I’m organising this fundraiser for my lifelong friend, Laura Collins—an incredible woman who is bravely battling cancer for the second time.

In 2010, Laura was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. It was one of the most difficult chapters of her life, but with immense strength, treatment, and unwavering support, she beat it. For over 14 years, Laura remained cancer-free.

Sadly, that all changed recently when she received the devastating news that cancer has returned—this time as bowel cancer.

Laura is now undergoing intense chemotherapy, with further treatment ahead including additional chemo, radiation, and surgery. As many of you know, chemotherapy doesn’t just attack the cancer—it takes a toll on the entire body. Because of this, Laura has had to step away from work. While her employer has been very supportive, the financial strain is significant.

Her partner Mike, who is self-employed, is doing his best to juggle everything—emotionally, physically, and financially—but it’s a huge weight for any family to carry alone.

Laura is a loving partner, mum to three children, and a proud grandmother. She has already shown the world what strength and grace look like in the face of adversity. Now, it’s our turn to show her that she’s not alone.
