Laura climbs Stairway to Heaven for Carrick Cancer
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
My name is Laura. I have set up this page in order to raise funds for a local charity that is very close to my heart as I take on a huge challenge.
For many, climbing the Cuilcagh mountain is not seen as a challenge but for me it is a challenge like no other.
I am a person with a walking impediment who has had to overcome many obstacles and challenges in life in order to get to where I am today. I think it is my personal qualities of determination and positivity that have moulded me into the person I am today. I have never let anything or anyone hold me back.
I have always wanted to climb Cuilcagh and thought to myself what better time to do it and what an amazing charity to do it for. I think my climb will be made that bit easier knowing that each step I take will make a difference, no matter how small to the life of someone with Cancer in my local community.
All money raised from my climb will go to Carrick Cancer. I have chosen this particular charity as Cancer is something that has touched all our lives in one way or another. My own mum was diagnosed with Cancer back in 2013 so I have experienced how difficult it is to see someone you love go through so much.
I will be climbing on July 31st for those currently battling the illness and for those who have fought their battle to the end. When I reach the top I will pause with a small group of friends who will be joining me in my climb for a moment of silence and prayer for those fighting cancer and those who have lost their lives to the disease.
I will climb with pride with a song in mind and positivity in my heart.
"Ain't about how fast I get there, ain't about whats waiting on the other side.....It's the climb
Would really appreciate your donation and support.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart,
Laura.
