Both a drag queen and licensed registered nurse of 7 years, Mandy Mango (she/her) is the Sweetest Fruit of Philadelphia. Starting her nursing and drag career in rural Williamsport, PA, Mandy Mango has expanded her mango mission to Southeast PA and surrounding cities. She's sexy, smart, and silly and loves to use her animated and dramatic performance style to not only move her audiences, but to blend with her nursing intellect to promote sexual health, HIV care, and health equity.

As a conceptual visual drag artist, my fashion and aesthetic perspective is polished to not only be aesthetically impressive by design but also by its cultural message.

With a following stretching across the northeast and midatlantic, Mandy Mango has an enthusiastic and diverse fan base that spans in age, gender identity, and sexual orientation.

Mango Merchandise such as clothing, stickers, pill boxes, and pill key chains will assist in promoting this sweet (and non genetically modified) drag artist brand. Merchandise like pill boxes and pill key chains are particularly helpful in highlighting Mandy Mango's attention to PrEP and general medication adherence.

As part of a grant-funded public health campaign implemented by a local LGBTQ+ community organization, this photo and video series encouraged healthy COVID19 prevention practices like social distancing, hand washing, and mask wearing in a culturally-informed and entertaining way. Mandy did her own makeup and wig design to embody the COVID19 virus character parody.]

Mandy values the power that drag has to make a statement simply being present in a space. Her poignant, flamboyant, and campy looks aim to utilize that power to make her audiences laugh, reflect, or sometimes, cry.

Her inspirations come from portrayals of East Asian women that influence her point of view as a first generation Filipina American.

This campaign's media content would professionally capture this mango mission through a new collection of elevated drag fashion looks, created by local Philadelphia designers.

After her nightlife, Mandy Mango switches her wig for her day job under the name Sigfried Aragona, RN, BSN, ACRN (he/she/they). Sigfried started his HIV nursing career in Williamsport, PA as a clinical case manager. In 2021, he moved back to the Philadelphia area where he progressed to a lead nurse role in an outpatient infectious disease clinic. His current role as a Prevention Clinical Associate plans health campaigns and trainings to promote PrEP and PEP services among city clinicians.

Sigfried is especially passionate about health equity for communities who are LGBTQ+ and living with HIV and sharing her fruits of knowledge. This passion is highlighted through the pursuit inclusive sexual Edutainment - the combination of sexual education with drag entertainment to teach and encourage healthy behaviors and practices. The social media series would expand on Mandy's prior work in live sexual health edutainment with college student organizations. Inclusive sexual health topics include anal sexual health, sexual positivity and gender diversity, and sex toy care beyond just STI and HIV prevention and treatment.

Risks and challenges

Risks and challenges are minimal. Fashion looks, costumes, and props are ready for photo and video. My wide network of photographers, videographers, event producers, graphic designers, and creatives have allowed me to create a schedule for shoots and post dates. A team of managers is assisting in the coordination of content creation and merchandise production as well.
