My journey into starting Trayzy has been unexpected. Here is how it happened.
Last year, a story hit the headlines about a 6-year-old girl who suffered severe burns when a hot in-flight meal slid off a faulty tray table during a long-haul flight. It was a frightening reminder of something many of us experience regularly: tray tables — on planes, trains, coaches, even ferries — are often slippy, worn, poorly maintained, and nowhere near as safe or stable as we assume.
Most of the time it’s just an inconvenience…
A laptop constantly shifting during a meeting.
A tablet sliding towards the floor mid-movie.
A coffee cup that wobbles every time the vehicle moves.
But in some cases, those same small frustrations can turn into genuine safety risks.
That’s exactly why Trayzy was born.
The idea didn’t come from a boardroom, it came from lived experience. Our founder struggled for months with his laptop skidding around on slick train tray tables during work commutes. Every journey felt like a balancing act. Then, on a flight to Gran Canaria last month, he watched phones and iPads sliding everywhere during takeoff and turbulence. Drinks toppled. Devices clattered onto the floor. People laughed it off, but it was yet another reminder: the basic tray table hasn’t evolved in decades… yet our lives, our tech, and our needs have.
Trayzy set out to fix that.
A non-slip, hygienic, wipe-clean, flexible tray table cover designed to instantly improve stability, reduce spills, protect devices, and bring some much-needed safety and practicality back into travelling — whether you’re working, relaxing, or keeping kids entertained at 30,000 feet.
Trayzy isn’t trying to reinvent the travel experience.
It’s simply solving a problem we’ve all accepted for far too long.
Small innovation. Big impact.
Funds raised are for further product development, sample creation, testing and markwting to allow us to launch and bring stability and safety to travellers everywhere.
