Launching "THE BOTTLE" short film campaign!

HELP US BRING HISTORY TO LIFE

Filming of "THE BOTTLE",written & directed by local actor and film festival director Ger O'Leary will commence in early Spring 2026 on the Beara Peninsula.

Help Ger O'Leary and his team bring the unwritten history of Dursey Island to life so it may never be lost in the mist of time.

This story has never been told till now....

"THE BOTTLE" is inspired by actual events that happened on Dursey Island during

The Irish War of Independence in 1921.

It tells the story of one family's struggle and self.sacrifise in war torn Ireland during those tumultuous times.

This story has been passed down through generations and befote his passing by Gers late Dad,P.J.O'Leary.

Ger now wishes to share with the world so it's never forgotten.

Its estimated the cost of making & producing "THE BOTTLE" will cost upwards of €3,000 in total. partially self.funded but Ger does need your help to get it finished. Any excess monies raised will be donated to a local charity

Ger O'Leary takes on the role of his great grandfather alongside a local and not so local talented cast.

We ask all our supporters - in Beara and beyond to contribute best they can.
