Launch of LEFTIE LEE'S

Hi, my name is Vivian Lee...you can call me Viv. I am a queer Korean-American mom and chef based out of Atlanta, GA where my daughter, “G”, and I have made our home. The inspiration behind the name of my first brick-and-mortar came from my 4 year old daughter, who is very much left-handed; the nickname started out as Leftie Lou, which then gave me inspiration for Leftie Lee's. We are in the final phases of opening LEFTIE LEE’S, a bakery and sandwich shop located in the new Olive and Pine complex in Avondale Estates, and we need your support to help us reach our goal. We are striving to be open by the first of May and we need to purchase the final pieces of equipment and raise working capital so that you can come to enjoy the “best croissants in the city” (so says my closest friends).

My professional background in food came from one of the fancy French schools in NYC where I learned to bake bread and pastries from scratch. I have cooked at notable restaurants in NYC, Boston, and Atlanta, and have run various pop-ups here in Atlanta, as well. Accolades include cooking at the James Beard House in NYC and winning Best Baked Good in Atlanta Pastry Live. I was selected for Emory University’s Start Me program in 2020 and I won Best Pie at a local farmers market pie contest (Buttermilk Pie with Peaches and Blackberries). All this to say that I have the education and skills to make this endeavor “successful” but I know deep in my soul that it is community that makes a small business thrive.

We can hardly wait to share our culture and background through pastry and sandwiches, special events (ours and yours), cooking and learning experiences, pop-up chefs, and more!
