Lucky Boy Rescue is the first major initiative of the 2RHINO Foundation — a real, long-term rescue program for pit bull–type dogs and the humans who refuse to give up on them.

This is the launch fund for building a legitimate, structured rescue program designed to serve many dogs like the one who inspired it.

Where It Began

Lucky Boy Rescue is named after Bodhi, a blocky-headed shelter dog I adopted years ago. We ended up featured on ABC Local 10 News in a story about second chances — the kind of story where a dog people once feared becomes the center of a feel-good moment.

That experience opened my eyes:

Pit bull–type dogs have huge hearts, huge potential, and almost no safety net.

One setback — housing, medical costs, job instability — can push a dog back into the system through no fault of their own.

Lucky Boy Rescue is the system I wish existed back then.

️ What This Fundraiser Is For

Your support will be used to officially launch Lucky Boy Rescue as a real rescue program. That includes:

Establishing the organization properly

Filing and registering the rescue, completing nonprofit formation, building basic compliance, and putting real structure in place.

Creating core rescue infrastructure

Intake workflows, vet partnerships, foster/boarding options, emergency response planning, and the internal systems a functioning rescue depends on.

Supporting the first rescue cases

The initial dogs and humans we are helping in South Florida — medical care, food, transportation, and short-term stability so they don’t fall through the cracks.

This isn’t a one-dog effort. It’s a pilot cohort that will shape the rescue’s long-term model.

Pit bull–type dogs and their humans live with more scrutiny, more breed restrictions, and fewer second chances.

Traditional rescues do incredible work, but they’re often overwhelmed and not structured to support the dog + person as a unit.

Lucky Boy Rescue focuses exactly on that — keeping dogs with their people by stepping in before a crisis becomes a surrender.

This campaign builds the foundation required to do that work legally, ethically, and sustainably for years to come.
