Help us launch the first-ever girls rugby team at Latitude High School! Also the first high school girls rugby team at an Oakland public school. With strong support from the community, we can give girls at Latitude the chance to play and grow through the global team sport of rugby!

We need your help to cover start-up costs: team equipment and providing scholarships + gear for players with financial need.

Meet The Coaches

Ana Lavongtheung is an experienced basketball and volleyball coach who has played rugby for 7 years with the Claremont Colleges, the All Blues, and the Lao National 7s Team. In 2024, Ana attained her Level 1 rugby coaching certification through the Legends project and immediately put it to use to grow the game, running a youth flag rugby summer camp in Philadelphia. Now, she’s excited to launch a rugby team closer to home!

Lisa Kelly is a dedicated 10th Grade Humanities and ELD teacher at Latitude High School and an experienced rugby player for the All Blues. Lisa attained her Level 1 rugby coaching certification in 2025 and is excited to put it to use in her community. Her enthusiasm for the sport is so infectious that three of her students already travel to play with the All Blues HS team in the spring season! She’s thrilled to bring a team to Latitude so that more students have the opportunity to play and grow through rugby.
