Launch Bulosan Coffee into the Farmers’ Market!

Hello friends, family, and soon to be new friends! My name is Elayne and I’m a bean water slayer (barista) & lupus warrior here in the Bay Area. I’ve always dreamt of having my own coffee shop someday, and knew that having a coffee cart first was vital. I’ve been working in the coffee & hospitality industry since 2017. From cafes, to bakeries, to helping out other cafes/roasters during gigs.

I was diagnosed with lupus back in 2013 and was in remission up until about 2019. My body couldn’t keep up with working, but I thought I was getting old. Lo and behold, after countless visits with way too many doctors, they have concluded that the lupus was back. During shelter in place, even though my body was too weak and in a lot of pain, my desire to serve others never went away. So just like everyone else, I was hustling (safely while social distancing). I baked a lot of pastries and served coffee from my house for friends and family to preorder & pick up.

I went back to working, but at bakeries to help jump start their coffee program, only to find out that the lupus flare ups were progressing. It got to a point where I lost my hair and was totally bed ridden a lot of the time.

Anyways, fast forward to today. I am still fighting lupus, but I’m healthy enough to work part time. I want Bulosan Coffee to start off as my part time job. I am trying my best to catch up in life and finally live this dream that God has had for me for the longest time. That’s launching & operating a coffee cart.

That’s where you come in! I need some help with covering commissary rent, farmers market fees, insurance, equipment, marketing, cost of goods etc in order to launch successfully without having to pull out a loan.
