Launch a Theological Institute for Prisons

Donation protected
We are launching the Cambridge Theological Institute for Prisons, a charitable organisation dedicated to supporting Christians in prison with theological education, ongoing discipleship, and connections with churches on the outside.

Prisons are arguably one of the most forgotten spheres of our society, yet, as Christians, we must remember that Jesus often prioritised outcast fringe groups throughout his ministry. While many churches have seen a dramatic decline in attendance over the few years, prison chaplaincies all over Britain have seen a sharp rise in people coming to faith, often for the first time.

Our mission is to connect accredited theological training colleges with prison chapels that are experiencing growth so that Christian inmates can go deeper in their walk with God, study Scriptures on a full-time basis, be equipped for ministry and mission, and gain academic accreditation for their work.

Our pilot project is in collaboration with Westminster College, and we hope to begin delivering some of the Durham University Common Awards programmes inside a Cat-A prison in September 2023.

While we are still in the process of setting up as a legal charity, we are looking for seed funding to help towards our start-up operational costs. You can check out our website for more information.

Thank you so much for partnering with this vision!
