This is Lonna! She's either laughing or singing in this photo, it's hard to tell - she does a lot of both! She's 78 years young, a retired schoolteacher, a singer-songwriter of children's music and gospel/scripture songs, and she's my mom. She is beloved by many - her children, family, friends and former students.
Lonna was diagnosed with cancer 6 months ago, and she's meeting it with the same faith, music-making, and plucky optimism that she brings to all of life's challenges. She beat breast cancer 20 years ago, lost her mom to cancer 43 years ago, and still has the courage and grit to face cancer down one more time.
But, she's not a good candidate for chemo due to her multiple chemical sensitivity syndrome. Alternative treatments have failed to stop the tumor's growth, and surgery isn't an option until it shrinks.
Fortunately, we discovered a therapeutic approach that combines low-dose, highly-targeted chemo with naturopathic protocols. This treatment drastically reduces chemo side effects while building the immune system at the same time - perfect for her sensitive system.
The problem? The price tag! This life-saving treatment will cost us $45,000. Her insurance will cover part of the chemo, but none of the health-building therapies that will minimize the collateral damage caused by chemo (and retired-teacher-former-single-mothers just don't have that kind of cash).
Timing is another challenge - we have only 3 weeks to raise this money so that she can begin treatment on 4/22/19. She's gone from Stage 2 to Stage 3+ since last September, so we can't delay any longer.
We're putting our need out into the world, with faith, hope and trust that God, the universe, and everyone will help us move this mountain. Lonna's greatest wish is to have enough time and energy to record her most recent musical creations: "9 Songs to Change your Life!" If you could help us meet our goal & share, it would mean the world to us...
Thank you thank you thank you, for your help to #KeepLonnaSinging!! Please LIKE & FOLLOW Lonna on Facebook!

P.S. We're also looking for a free or low-cost place to stay in Reno, NV for three weeks starting on 4/22, in case anyone knows anyone who might know about a place!
P.P.S. We've learned a lot about alternative and integrative cancer treatments along this journey, and we'd be delighted to share our knowledge with anyone who needs it. Please let us know how we can help YOU!
