Al Porcaro was a dedicated Catholic father and businessman who developed a friendship with a special priest named Father Michael at Incarnation Parish in Melrose, MA. Father Michael has a dream. He comes from Uganda and he dreams to bring some of what we have here in America to the underprivileged children of his home country. Father Michael has shared his dream with others and one of those others was his friend Al. Al was more than a friend, he was more like a father to Father Michael. As Al’s children, we can tell you this relationship meant lots of fun for two of them. Our dad Al began to plan with Michael this mission, and they shared the dream with others as the idea gained momentum and funding. The plan is to build a youth and community center near lake Victoria in Uganda.
Father Michael wants to purchase a piece of land and bring a mission trip of doctors, nurses, educators and anyone with skills to share with those less fortunate then we are.
It is called “Laudato Si.” This means kindness matters.
The vision is to spread acts of kindness
in every possible way towards one another and to the environment.
The mission is to provide a model of living inspired by prayer, love, and kindness inour community; and extending our handsto a sustainable and purposeful way of care for our environment through tree planting.
Al believed in this mission, and a plan was in place to execute it. Funding was one challenge we were working on as a group. Our father wanted this dream of Father Michael’s to become a reality.
We believe this fund we wish to gather inLiu of flowers which will go directly to father Michael’s project by care of the Porcaro Family. Please consider donating to this cause, so close to our father’s heart and which he was a part of and would love to make this dream come true for Father Michael’s country.
Our father died February 11, 2021, gone tragically far too soon. His mother said he had a heart of Gold and he truly did. Al’s legendary legacy of kindness can be continued through this mission.
Thank you so much for supporting this worthy cause.
The Porcaro Family and Father Michael Sfenfuma.
