This has been a long and devastating moment for our family. On Sunday, January 19th, 2025, we got the news that Latrista had been shot in her head twice by a man she thought loved and cared for her around 3am. Her body was not discovered until 10am, laying helpless in a hallway, meaning she was left to die for several hours. She was so loving, and we all knew her to be the “life of the party.” She was such a sweet and loving soul, and she didn’t deserve what she got at all. Never would we want to hear she would be the first homicide of 2025 and her life to be taken from us at the age of 37.

We want to give Latrista Sims the memorial she deserves, to honor her memory and say our last goodbyes. I am currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of her funeral. Any and every donation is appreciated and helps, no matter the amount. All her donations will be proceeded to her mother, Teresa Kirchgessner. We love you all, and we are asking for prayers at this tragic time.
