LaTisha's Surgery Campaign

No one imagines they’ll wake up one day changed and their life will be changed forever, this is what happened to my sister LaTisha or Tisha for those who know her personally.
Her life changed on October 23, 2014 when she experienced a migrainous stroke caused by a rare neurological disorder called Hemiplegic Migraine. Her hemiplegic migraines mimic a stroke, each and every time she has one, which is at least once a week. She can’t speak, she becomes paralyzed on her right side, her vision is tripled, she is confused and at times she faints becoming unresponsive. As if that is not enough, she has to deal with daily complex migraines which render her disabled…unable to continue in her profession as a successful RN, caring for others, who now is dependant on others for her care. This disease dashed all hopes and abilities to finish her Master's degree, cook, clean, drive, but most importantly be the mother and wife she once was and longs for daily.
Our family has supported her as she has gone through numerous medication changes and experiments, 36 Botox injections in her scalp, acupressure, alpha stem pain modulation, cancer screening, and on and on. Amazingly enough, we found a world renowned neurosurgeon in Denver who performs implanted neuro modulator surgery, or The Reed Procedure, which after our consultation, he feels would be a good option at helping to decrease the pain, help the medications work better and possibly give her more “good” days than she has now. To learn more about the Reed Procedure, visit http://www..reedmigraine.com/reed-procedure/
We have cried together, prayed together and now we are going to work together. This procedure offers HOPE, it’s the hope our entire family has been waiting for, and with full understanding of the procedure, we support her desire to go forward. This procedure is NOT cheap, but we must get it done, and we are seeking donations from wherever they may come, any amount helps. I ask anyone out there that can help to please donate what you can, for a good cause, and feel free to share my sister’s story, on your timeline, with your friends and family.
With Love,
Tai
